If you are happy with the '4' rim then it would be a good idea to proceed slowly with your proposed change. Stay with the '4' rim while you get used to one of the PHC cups ( all of which, apart from the PHC 21A, 20, 20A and 20AX) are more free-blowing than a Paxman 4C cup). The '4' rim will fit any PHC cup.
I suggest trying a PHC 23A as the closest match to a Paxman 4C, and a 21A as a close match to a 4B.
After you have got used to the cups, you could try the 'AS' and the 'AS18' rims, both of which would be a constructive but gentle move away from a '4' rim.
