Thanks again, Tony(s) and just an update: now making progress, sticking to the Paxman 4 rim as advised and using a 23A cup. So far very good, feeling much easier on lower register and I think it sounds smoother overall. I think I will stick with this rim for a while before I try one of the PHCs.

One question: is there any hope of supply improving on these cups? I only got the 23A because I was in Paxmans and they found a trial one and polished it up for me to take. I am waiting on a 21A since mid December, but still no outlook on when they will get any in.
