Subject: NEW PHC CUPS
They have the same dimensions, both internal and external, as the original PHC cups and are intended to give horn players an additional, alternative version of our proven PHC designs. The best way to find out whether or not they are for you is by trying them.
Of course the original range of PHC cups will continue to be made and stocked as before.
We wanted to find a way of making a cup which gives professional/advanced horn players even more response and 'feel' and took our time working on the best way to achieve our aims. The prototypes have been in use for a few months and the feedback has been so good that we felt ready to get a modest batch of the new cups to Paxman's shop.
The first batch will include a few 21A, 22, 22A, 23, 23A, 24A, 25 & 25A cups. There is no reason not to make "Z" versions of all the PHC cups and we already know that the "Heavy Cups" work very well when made using this special manufacturing technique.
In order to identify these new cups the letter "Z" will be engraved on the side of the cup as well as being included as a prefix to the cup stamp (around the top of the cup, just under the screw-thread).
"Z" seems like a good, clear & foolproof way of identifying the new cups.
Availability may be somewhat limited at first as they take longer to make. They are also made of a special metal and will cost more than the cups in the original/normal range. They are finished in silver.
We think that they are exceptionally good but we are wary of any overselling (bullshit) and prefer to rely on word of mouth recommendations initially.
We hope that you will like our new PHC supercups/"Z" cups.
Tony Halstead & Tony Chidell.
