That being said...although I agree that your repsonse, while controversial, was carefully worded; perhaps it would have been better to pose your points as questions rather than statements. "Is there a gender issue here? Do more men than women have the 'tinkering impulse?'Is this an outdated gender stereotype or does this point to a legitimate difference in the way women and men process information?"
Underneath Brenda's angry response is a good point. I believe that it would have been better to make it clear that your posting was more a personal response to an individual (in this case Lucy) than a universal response. I don't believe that your intent was to insult anyone.
I have enjoyed your questions and comments in this forum and look forward to reading more in the future. I beg all contributors to lighten up. If not polite, at least please be civil.
