Should i replate my horn?

Hi folks! I have a used second hand Alexander 103 and i have been using it for many years now. It plays like a gem but it's exterior has much to be desired.It is unlacquered and is of gold brass. i am considering the option of sending it to get replated? Would this process affect the playability of my horn? I really want my horn to look as bueatiful as it plays!
