I agree with thoughts above, guys. You have pointed many interesting things.
However there are absolutely two different kinds of buzzing - on your lips (without mouthpiece)and with your mouthpiece.
---Buzzing mouthpiece--- you practise adjusting small aperture surrounded by metal RIM, in addition you have to direct the stream of air going into the mouthpiece, using e.g.muscles around the rim. Please, notice - when playing/buzzing mouthpiece your upper lip is being rolled out (slightly)by pressure of mouhpiece.
---When buzzing without mouthpiece or rim--- your lips are free to buzz(!) but it is not beneficial in any way for player.
I do not know would you agree with me but this is my opinion.
