Subject: parallel bore
Does anyone have a theory about the design of the bit of the mouthpiece between the bottom of the cup and the start of the backbore? I've noticed that some cups have a parallel portion at this point, whereas others don't. I've been looking at a Paxman 4b cup - it has no parallel section at all - the backbore starts precisely where the cup finishes - whereas some phc cups do. I've no clearly developed idea about this but the Pax mouthpiece does play with a ready response.Physicist?
