If you mean RAW nickel to acetate I would say GO for it all the way. There shall not be any noticeable change in the sound, only a much more confortable and far less harmfull material on your lips. Otherwise you could try a silver or even better golden plating on your nickel rim but do not go on playing raw nickel that has got a very high allergenic potential.
