I would guess that, if it has any effect, "freezing" would cause thermal stresses - thus work-hardening the brass. Obviously metal is already frozen - I assume we're talking about cooling to very low temperatures as obtained with liquid nitrogen etc.
Based on the differences of instruments with different metals, a harder brass would expect to give more harmonics in the sound - ie brighter, while softer brass would absorb more of the harmonics, giving a duller sound.

Personally I will not be having my horn frozen!
