"It is like going form Stereo to Digital. "Much smoother, clearer, sweeter, more centered, easier to play, more clarity, darker and richer, refined, more flexible, truer, and more coherent," say the professional musicians.
The music industry has recognized that brass instruments become sonically seasoned over time. The years of sonic seasoning enhances clarity, tonal quality along with ease of instrument playability. With cryogenics, a horn can be likened with a sonically seasoned one of 24 years in just 24 hours."
My snide comments are:
1- It can't be like going from stereo to Digital. Stereo relates to number of channels and Digital relates to taking an analog wave and putting it into digital numbers. Apples and oranges.
2- if you can make a horn in one day sound like a 24 year old horn, then is it now on its way down hill and wearing out sooner? (like a bad clone job?)
I think when we try and take short cuts we miss things along the way. And that includes traditional culture.
