Surprised that you say you do not like Holtons as professional horns because they are "tight and not really responsive". This is a pretty sweeping statement given the range of horns that Holton produces. My H-181 (large bore) is anything but tight. Holtons were good enough for Barry Tuckwell, who I think you might find just about qualified as "professional". Other professional users have included Douglas Hill, Philip Farkas, Chris Larkin (although not currently) etc, etc. It is true that, although Holtons produce several professional models of horn, they seem to be underrepresented in the profession. Perhaps people think that the fact they are so reasonably priced in relation to most other "professional" makes means that they can't be any good? Snobbery?
