I'm not sure there would be much justice in my knocking the reputation of a particular maker in this forum. The point of my post was that horns from any maker vary - some are going to be better than others. Mind you, there is a Japanese manufacturer known for the consistency of their product, perhaps because their highly industrialised manufacturing process relies less than some on the individual craftsperson for the 'fit and finish'. In the end, it comes down to how the horn plays and the sort of 'Friday afternoon' faults I mentioned above may or may not affect that. Intuition suggests they might though...
