Many thanks for your reply - having now started reading the text (rather than just looking at the photos!) you are correct in that this (the text) refers to another recording session using a horn quartet including Alan Civil and Neil Saunders. Like you I believe I know who currently owns the said Bb soprano, as he doesn't live very far from me, and reputedly has quite a collection of interesting instruments.
