I have a stupid question, but hope I'm sufficiently among friends to be able to ask it safely. I am thinking of going to the IHS Symposium and wonder whether it's the sort of thing one takes one's horn to if one isn't actually on the programme. (Yes, I know I should have the thing with me to practise, but to do so will involve flying and insurance and related headaches, and for a few days I'd be happy to get by buzzing on a mouthpiece.)

Thank you for your sage advice, Mike.
As to headaches, what brings them on is having to deal with the expense of insurance, the risk of having to claim on same, worries about hotel security, worries about all the hooha associated with taking anything on an aeroplane these days--have I said enough?
But as to the types of headaches to which you are referring, when a woman is, as I am, over 50, overweight, overtalkative and inclined to having far too many opinions, not to mention a horn-playing habit, she doesn't have any need to complain of them.
